The short version

PapaGaio has no ads and sells nothing to anyone. Everything stored is there to teach you a language or to see which pages get used.

Website

• Your translation history is stored only in your browser (localStorage). We never see it.
• Text you translate is sent to our server and forwarded to Groq (US) for processing. It is not stored on our side.
• A daily request counter per IP address exists purely to prevent abuse; it holds no content.

Analytics

• Cloudflare Web Analytics runs always: page counts with no cookies and no cross-site tracking.
• Google Analytics loads only if you press Allow on the banner. Decline and the script is never fetched. Your choice is remembered in your browser; clear site data to be asked again.

Telegram bot

• We store your Telegram user id, first name, learning progress and the cards you add. This is the product.
• Voice messages are transcribed by Groq (US) and are not kept after transcription.
• Dialog sessions with the AI coach keep only the recent turns needed for context, and are deleted at /stop.

Mobile app (Android and iPhone)

• Tapping Start here creates an anonymous account on our server. There is no email, no password and no social sign-in — the account is identified by a random token stored securely on your device.
• Tied to that token we keep your learning progress: which cards you have answered, how you graded them and when each is due next. This is what lets the schedule survive a reinstall and stay in step with the Telegram bot if you pair them.
• Cards you write yourself are stored with the account, as is the text you send to the reader and the recent turns of a coach conversation.
• Voice recordings you make for pronunciation practice, and photos you point at Portuguese text, are sent for processing and are not kept afterwards.
• The app has no advertising, no analytics SDK and no crash reporter. Nothing about you is sold or handed to advertisers.
• Delete everything from inside the app: Settings → Delete account. That erases the profile, the schedule, the review history, the cards you wrote and every paired device. It is immediate and cannot be undone.

Third parties

• Cloudflare — hosting and database.
• Groq — translation, dialog, speech recognition and reading text from photos. Processing happens in the United States.
• Microsoft Edge TTS — audio synthesis (receives only the text to be spoken).

Your data, your call

In the app: Settings → Delete account, which removes everything at once. For the bot: send /pause and email [email protected] — everything tied to your Telegram id will be deleted. Either way, write to us at the same address if you would rather we did it for you.
