Data we collect

Only what you choose to send through Ask AI, described below. The app does not ask for a name, email, phone number or login, and it contains no analytics, advertising or third-party trackers.

Ask AI (beta)

Typing in the Ask tab stays on your device: the answer is put together on the phone from the market data and the glossary. Only when you tap Ask AI for a summary (or press Search) does the app send your question, up to 300 characters, together with the market figures it has just shown you, to our server at alfacat.azenha.ai. The first time, the app asks before anything is sent; choosing Not now sends nothing, and the answer built on the device stays on screen either way.

The server passes them to an AI model to phrase a short answer: Claude, by Anthropic, or, when that is unavailable, a model running on Cloudflare Workers AI. These providers process the request on our behalf under their own terms. We do not store your question or the answer, and nothing sent identifies you or your device. Your IP address is used for a moment to limit how many questions one address can ask per minute, and is not kept.

Please do not type personal information into a question. Questions asking whether to buy, sell or hold something are declined on the phone before anything is sent.

Reporting an answer. If you report an AI answer, the question, the answer, the model that wrote it and the reason you chose are sent and kept for up to 90 days so that answers can be reviewed and improved. A report contains nothing that identifies you.

Data stored on your device

Your watchlist, portfolio entries and theme preference are saved locally on your device only. They are never uploaded anywhere; the app has no server side and no way to read them back. Deleting the app deletes them.

Market data you have viewed is cached locally so the app keeps working offline. The cache holds public market data only.

Network requests

The app downloads public end-of-day market data files from azenha.ai/alfacat. These are anonymous requests for static JSON — they carry no identifiers, no account information and nothing about your watchlist or portfolio. Ask AI requests are described above.

The AlfaCat website uses basic web analytics like most websites; that applies to the site in your browser, not to the app.

AlfaCat displays public market data for information and education only. Nothing in the app is a recommendation to buy or sell any security or other asset. AI answers can be wrong; the figures shown with them are the source.
