Notes for each platform
Google Play or the APK
Play keeps the app up to date by itself. The APK is the same app for phones without Google Play; it never updates on its own, and Android asks once to allow installs from your browser.
Mac
Signed and notarised by Apple, so it opens without the "damaged" warning. A window onto this site, which is why it is small and never out of date.
Windows
Installs for the current user. Windows may say the publisher is unknown — choose More info, then Run anyway. Chrome and Edge can also install the site itself as an app from the address bar, with no warning at all.
Telegram
